French Onion Soup {Crock Pot Recipe}

After making the Enchilada Soup for three weeks in a row, I decided that I needed to branch out (again) and try something different. That's when I came across a recipe for French Onion Soup in the crock pot that I absolutely had to try!

What You Need:

3 Onions (I used white) - sliced
1/3 cup of butter
1 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
2 1/2 Tablespoons Flour
6 Cups Beef Broth
1/4 Cup White Wine
French Bread
Mozzarella Cheese

What You Do:
Melt the butter in a skillet
Add Onion and cook until soft (about 20 min)
Stir in sugar and salt; cook for another 5-10 min until golden
Stir/add in flour until it is all mixed well in skillet
Combine onions, broth, and wine in crock pot for 6-8 hours

When ready to serve I sliced French Bread in size/shape of serving bowl, floated bread on top of the soup and added slices of cheese on top of bread. I put the whole thing in the toaster oven on broil until the cheese started to bubble and turn brown.

This recipe is super easy and great for these crisp Fall days!
