I've begun the process of painting my room, which involves removing this offending border:
I've pretty much decided that pulling down wallpaper/border (especially when it is layered on top of another border that got halfway painted over) is pretty awful. BUT this little homemade concoction has made it as painless as it can be and helped strip it right off.
Mix 1 part fabric softener to about 4 parts warm water in a spray bottle then use a scraper and sponge (I like scrubby kind) to remove the paper after you've liberally sprayed it.

Yep, I knew this trick. It works my Mom told me about it years ago. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThere is truly nothing worse than removing wallpaper of any kind. Renting machines are expensive, so great to have this tip in my back pocket, never heard of it before! Thanks, Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best Par.tay!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing it right now and there is still a lot is scraping. It seems to be working better if you let it sit for a little while.
